Not sure how to start. 4 of us went to this place for dinner last night. We were hungry. We ordered 3 dishes, 1 appetizer and 6 bowls of oil and nothing left when we were gone. It could be combination of hungry good foods small plates. I can't judge clearly for this round, so I'll go back another time if I'm not so hungry. FYI, we ordered half the chicken (photographed), duck tofu, shrimp paste string beans and India... View all feedback.
What Munis Matthews doesn't like about Satay Malaysian Cuisine:
The food is not bad for me as a Malaysian myself. However, there isn’t a good customer service. The person at the counter wasn’t happy because I wanted to pay with card instead of cash simply because it is lesser than $15.Overall, the food comes with reasonable price but personally I feel they treat the customer based on how much u spend. Not a second trip for me. The satay and roti were enjoyable considering their price. However, the standout dish was definitely the Hainan chicken. It was juicy and had a wonderfully clean flavor. I highly recommend trying it if you're in Flushing!
Good food good service fast and efficient parking out front! Only 2 spots
In my opinion they got the best Hainanese chicken over rice. As you guys realize now a days when you pay with credit card at a restaurant they charge you that extra 3% for credit card payment fee. Unless you pay cash then it is a flat amount of courseplus tax. So why should customers have to pay that credit card processing fee when y?all the business that have credit cardpayment as an option and have an agreement to pay that fee. That?s my only issue. Other than that the food is good. Service isokay. They will fullfilll most of the requests.
They offer shaved ice all year round! We tried the curry beef noodles and the slipper egg over rice with beef, and both dishes were outstanding. The curry was flavorful with just the right amount of spice, while the egg and beef rice was fantastic. Both meals arrived just minutes after we ordered. Plus, the prices are very reasonable.
I visited during lunchtime and found the meal pretty satisfying. My total was $40, including tips, which is a bit higher than what I'd normally pay in the area. Everything tasted delicious, although the sauce for the roti canai was served at room temperature; it didn’t bother me, but it might be an issue for some. The serving size for the Hainan chicken was generous, though nearly half of it was mostly bones. Overall, I would definitely return for the Hainan chicken over rice to take out, but I think I’ll skip dining in next time.
