You can’t beat a classic. This place has charm and really good diner food. The shake and ice cream selection are of course the standouts. My boy gave this a high burger rating of 5/5. It’s a small space with no parking, so don’t be surprised if there is a wait. Kids menu is diverse.Food: 5/5 View all feedback.
The coffee could be stronger, but the burger plate was decent and the breakfast dishes were enjoyable. I always recommend getting the sundae. Overall, it's consistently a good experience.
This is the best diner in Jackson Heights! The servers are friendly, the breakfasts are consistently well-prepared, and the atmosphere is cozy. What else could you possibly want?
The service was exceptional. The waitstaff was attentive and considerate, always ensuring that I was well taken care of. I opted for breakfast, and while I haven’t tried their ice cream yet, I can speak highly of the breakfast offerings. It’s classic diner fare, executed perfectly. I had no complaints at all. From bacon and eggs to pancakes, home fries, omelettes, and sausage—these are all staples that they nail without a hitch. It’s basic food, but in the best way possible! It was exactly what I was hoping for. The manager was incredibly friendly, filling my coffee cup to the brim and checking in frequently to make sure everything was satisfactory. I just wish I had caught his name! In summary, if you find yourself in Queens and are in search of an authentic, old-school dining experience rich with history and ambiance, look no further. Jahns is definitely worth a visit! Pros: - Great ambiance - Excellent service - Reasonably priced - Rich history and classic diner atmosphere - Classic diner food done exceptionally well Cons: - Not really a downside, but if you’re seeking something more unconventional or extraordinary, this might not be the place for you.
It's a classic good coffee shop in Jackson Heights!!
I loved the atmosphere of this diner, really gives you nostalgic vibes. I came for brunch over the weekend and was seated quickly. Booth was spacious and comfortable, menu was huge (and quirky) We got the Mexican omelette with pancakes, topped with strawberries and bananas. Omelette was delicious, and they were generous with the amount of fruit for the pancakes. We also ordered the Cheeseburger Deluxe, asked for medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. If you order coffee, you get unlimited refills, which they're quite adamant about offering to do. In my opinion the coffee was a bit weak and watered down, but for the price and the quantity it was expected. Overall, great value and experience. I definitely will be back with some friends, maybe to tackle the Kitchen Sink. I'd also try the waffles next time, they smelled delicious when they were making them.
