The atmosphere is charming, and the food is delicious. However, the staff was rather rude and condescending. If I decide to order from here again, I would prefer to get it to go.
Delicious vegetarian Buddhist-Chinese cuisine served in a beautifully decorated and serene restaurant. We particularly enjoyed the various mock-meat dishes, especially the mock BBQ pork and the fried bread (which may have been a mock-fried cutlet). The vegetable sushi was also fantastic; we ordered the volcano roll, which was topped with mango and had some fried pieces (possibly pineapple?) around the edges. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and definitely worth a visit.
We tried the vegetarian orange chicken, a spicy vegetarian shrimp dish, vegetarian chicken lo mein, and a dish reminiscent of a Happy Family, which combined vegetables, tofu, and other delightful ingredients. Everything we had was delicious, especially the chicken—it was incredible! My son kept asking the waiter, “HOW?? How does this taste like chicken??” The portion sizes are very generous; our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, so we ended up taking a lot of food home. If you have room for dessert, I recommend the tofu cheesecake. I did get a heads-up that it contained actual cheese, but it was still delightful. The hostess and waiter were fantastic as well—they took the time to make us feel welcome, explained the menu thoroughly, and helped us choose our dishes. We will certainly return soon, and I highly recommend this place; you won’t even miss the meat. One thing to note: if you order takeout, the presentation isn't great. Everything comes in similar containers, making it hard to differentiate the dishes, and the sauces aren’t labeled, leaving you unsure of what you're eating. In contrast, the photos on their website showcase beautifully presented dishes that look just like what you’re getting when dining in. Takeout, however, feels more like a collection of fried lumps.
