We all ordered seafood dishes and were completely satisfied with the variety, quality, and flavor. The girl serving us was very kind and attentive. The price was more than reasonable. An oasis of peace and serenity where we'll definitely return... to try the meat too

The location is beautiful, surrounded by greenery near the Su Mannau caves. The service is fast and courteous, the food excellent, and the prices reasonable. The tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms was top-notch. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely be back.

An unassuming, warm and articulated gentleman, Piero really toured the world with assignments of high profile and responsibility while working for a world leader in the maintenance of infrastructures such as harbors and channels. His communicative and managing skills gained him the respect of all who dealt with him. Back home, he continued along the same line, gaining recognition among his fellow restaurateurs, some of which took over venues originally launched by Piero, and often learned from him the tricks of the trade. Since several years, Piero took over the management of Su Mannau Hostel and Restaurant, bringing back in the limelight an almost dilapidated structure that he, single handedly, transformed in a successful venue, pointing on local traditions, zero food miles ingredients, and creativity. In recent years, taking advantage of the high consideration he obtained from his fellow restaurateurs, he promoted an increasingly successful initiative, Flumini in Fiore , that each May provides a showcase for all the food, tourism and hospitality professionals of the Fluminese area. This long foreword is meant to give a background to my review of the Su Mannau restaurant: the experience of a world class chef put at the service of tradition and creativity, top quality raw ingredients and skillful preparation, so that even the same dish that you may have tried elsewhere in Sardinia will taste better when prepared by Piero. Plus, you will discover novelties, and this applies equally to meat, fish, starters, first and main courses, including unusual and delicious uses of both wild and cultivated vegetables and mushrooms. By not visiting Su Mannau , you are loosing an opportunity, such as I did because there wasn 't a review like this to guide me. But you are reading, so you won 't miss the chance.
