Floyd country store is worth the trip to Floyd VA alone. Just to be able to experience the music is a joy. The people hear are extremely nice and the food is great. Love the biscuits and gravy ?. Just look up their website to see their schedule for upcoming events. Usually every weekend. This is our second trip with friends and we weren't disappointed at all. Already planning another trip from South Carolina. The tow... View all feedback.
What Susu Reed (SRJ) doesn't like about Floyd Country Store:
From what I understand this store used to be the center of attraction for Floyd, just what I was told. What I saw when I was there was a fairly interesting old style store. What really did it though was the prices on food... $8 for grilled cheese and soup? $9 BLT? We tried the Reuben my fiancee used to love and it wasn't the same. Also tried the cran-turkey sandwich, which well, tasted like thanksgiving. I was disapp... View all feedback.
This is the heart of downtown Floyd, VA... restaurant, soda fountain and adorable country store. We experienced the joy of all three during our weekend visit grilled cheese and tomato soup lunch hit the spot (with baked goods to go), ice cream and root beer float was the evening treat and then we (been there, done that) bought the t shirt in the store. The Friday night jamboree was a fun scene to watch, and we enjoyed the independent jam bands on the street as well. Very cool vibe! Love supporting local.
My husband and I LOVE the Floyd Country Store! The family friendly atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, the shows and dances are awesome! You feel as if you are stepping back in time of days gone by. Lots of fun...highly recommend!
Ignore the recent review with someone complaining about the increased prices. Show me ONE restaurant that has not gone up. This is a neat country store and I am glad we finally made it here. Music was good and the milkshake I had next door was incredible. If going anywhere near this town you need to stop.
The experience of enjoying blue grass and the different bands is worth the visit every single time. However, the food has to be less desirable. First, the prices for the items don't match the quality nor the amount of food provided.Fancy chaulkboard graphics with no follow through in delivering a promise of artisan food. The sandwiches are pricey, with toddler portions, bread soaked, soggy ingredients that shouldn't be wet, and taste that it's bland with no real flavor. There is no real effort in caring how the product is delivered to the customer. The bacon greens had a great taste, but once again, the portion equals toddler size for what you pay. Now we wanted to enjoy the desserts and they look amazing. German chocolate cake was delicious, and the portion matched the price, like everything their size portion for keylime pie was no bigger than a reese cup and a dash of whip cream. Disappointment with the pie was just ridiculous. The young lady needs more training as she seemed bothered to deal with the public. Simple request seems like life ending with the staff rolling their eyes just to request spoons for our desserts. Overall, I wouldn't invest in eating at the location due to the fact that the prices dont match the quality of the ingredients nor the portions. Food would be 1 stars, in my opinion. The atmosphere is a 4. Next time, I will bring something to enjoy from Food Lion and save my capital for a real restaurant that gives equal balance to all areas.$46 dollars gets you two sandwiches (Ruben, BBQ pork), a small cup of bacon greens, small side salad, $1 pickles (the best part of the meal) and you guessed it, left you pissed that you choose to eat here.$12 (German cake, keylime) Dessert are $5 average, which was separate. Overall, I wouldn't invest in eating here. We tried out of convenience due to traveling from out of town. This place needs to do a real self review of how these prices, ingredients, and portions dont match the atmosphere, leaving one with a bad taste of the whole experience. The worst part was that everything was drenched in water, soggy chips, and no, it's not pickle juice. Staff need serious training all around when serving the public.Paid artisan prices but got nothing back in return. It's truly embarrassing. Recap the pickles, and the German cake had the only enjoyment during the whole experience.
Arrived in time for the Sunday afternoon gathering of bluegrass musicians and dancers. It was a short a great experience
