When we almost gave up our quest for some coffee in the quiet towns of the Hjartdal area we found this hotel. When we arrived we hesitated to go in because it l... read more When we almost gave up our quest for some coffee in the quiet towns of the Hjartdal area we found this hotel. When we arrived we hesitated to go in because it looked closed but I saw some people working on the beautiful wooden house next to it. I told them about our coffee quest. Surprisingly one of them said that we could come and have some coffee inside the hotel. It was actually closed but she would make some coffee for us and even the kids could have some apple juice. Inside we where blown away by the amazing timeless interior and almost more by the kindness and time she took to tell us about the hotel, the area and the tips. Thank you so much, we feel blessed having this experience at this very special place.

Our hobbit house (loft) was super nice and cosy, with some traditional furniture and exceptional surroundings. A truly authentic Norwegian experience! Altough located at the crossing of the two roads, we did not experience any noise and had a peaceful sleep at night. We also took a dinner option and were fully amazed by the 4-course dinner. The service could be little bit warmer during the dinner, but we felt very well welcomed and hosted. Just a minus for the breakfast: we came late, but we were still on time. Yet, no one asked us whether we would like to have more cheese, charcuterie, juice or anything else whereas the buffet was almost empty.
