The spaghetti carbonara, whic... read more The portions were very scant. The salad with duck contained only a single slice of duck meat—who was fortunate enough to get that? The spaghetti carbonara, which was the best dish we had, wasn't homemade, and the restaurant seemed to overlook the fact that carbonara is traditionally made with egg, not cream. Even the rabbit dish tasted like cod and came with the usual mix of tomatoes and onions. One of the starters, a type of meatball, was partly cold, which suggested it had been reheated in a microwave. Even the chef came over and acknowledged that the service was lacking and that the portions were really meant for one person. In conclusion, if you’re not familiar with Italian cuisine and choose not to order from the menu, you might have a decent meal. However, if you know what authentic Italian food should taste like or are considering the special menu, I would recommend avoiding Pasto's.
