I ordered the filet mignon and got SEVERELY sick that night. I spent 5 hours in the ER due to severe abdominal pain caused by eating under cooked meat from there. Avoid the steak if you choose to eat here.
Yesterday was my first time in this restaurant. The initial service so far was very lack luster. The food was great but I feel the servers need more training, and managers need to pay more attention to the establishment. I ordered a dollar bottle of champagne, to which I had to open myself. I later tried to ask for another bottle but was never able to gain the attention of the server. They never checked back on me to see how everything was or if I needed anything else. No one explained anything about the wine, I feel servers are severely lacking wine knowledge in general. Again, it’s a shame: The food was great, but I also should be paying for great service.
I wish I had a sky full of stars to give for Josephine 's review. They are surely deserving. 5 stars to represent the 5 senses will have to do. Visually it is absolutely beautiful. A lovely, rustic old home converted to a cozy intimate restaurant. The wafting smells of the food being prepared drew us as we wandered in. The warm, friendly greeting and attentive staff made us feel at home. The gentle bustle and buzz of the restaurant offset by a phenomenal soundtrack of eclectic music. My wife and I commented song after song about how special the ambiance was. Now to the food, although simply referring it as food is an extreme injustice. The meal was literally a work of art. Not the bougie, overly small (see what I did there? , portions with a drizzle of color to distract you from the fact that you about to feast on two bites of food. The portions were just the right size, completely satisfying without being grossly over or under sized. The ingredients were all extremely fresh and top quality. This makes total sense... with chefs creating such wonderful fare, why would you not use the best? Simply put, every single thing about Josephine 's is absolutely perfect in my opinion. We wanted a special night for my wife 's birthday and Josephine 's delivered in spades. It could not have been any more perfect. Thank you SO much! If you are EVER in Flagstaff, you HAVE to make sure and try (try isn 't accurate... let 's say experience Josephine 's. Life is too short NOT to experience Josephine 's!
What a great place in historic building with a nice atmosphere. Great service and chef driven menu with Mexican flair, we loved it! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I made a reservation here for an anniversary dinner about two weeks in advance. We were immediately seated outside and weren 't given a choice. When asked if we could please sit indoors, we were told that they had to fill the outdoor space first. It was quite windy that day. I would have thought making a reservation would have given us a choice of sitting indoors or outdoors. The indoor dining room was nearly empty. I ordered the Cajun mac and cheese and it came out cold and bland. Luckily, they remade it and it came out hot. It also tasted completely different than the first dish which was somewhat concerning. My fiancé 's steak was overcooked and portion sizes for his dish were small. They made it kind of right and discounted us 40% on the entrees. No complimentary bread or anything here. Server was basically non-existent and stood over our table watching how much we chose to tip. Normally Google reviews are my go-to, but this restaurant having a 4.6/5 is dumbfounding. Check out other restaurants around Flagstaff. Save yourself some time and money; pass on this one. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
