Hush Puppies were really good when I dived them into a lot of maple syrup. Dessert had watermelon. Banana pudding... good, but if they come with Nilla wafers, it would be incredible. Sweet potato cake... small... but good. Tested like pumpkin cake.
Right from the door the staff is so inviting and the place is so beautiful. There are small flower vases on the stands and the bar stools are beautiful vintage red padded vinyl. The general feeling was relaxed and at home. Our server was super-professional and so pleasant. Our order came out immediately while we were talking to one of the regular. We felt like home. My husband and I had the curry goats over rice and the sweet potato cake. The homemade sweet potato cake came with vanilla ice cream and optional whipped cream. It was just like what I had in the historic Mississippi soul food restaurants. A great experience in a small place with a lot of heart.
I've been driving a lot and always wanted to go inside. I love soul food and we had breakfast. I wasn't disappointed, everything was delicious. It's really hard to find grottos and catfishes. But good God did everything right and it was amazing. The waiting staff was also very friendly. The restaurant is a small charming building in the style of the 1950s. Just go in and get ready to enjoy some southern delicacies. I can't wait to try her lunch and dinner.
It really enjoyed: The owner is a great guy! I went with my husband and I have to say the staff is very friendly. I ordered a pulled pig, crowned green and it was so delicious. I had also ordered the breakfast of berries and French toast and I loved it. Besides, the prices were so cheap. On an Ocassion the owner actually came out and imagined and began a very pleasant conversation with us and the customers, which shows that he actually interested in the people who go there.
Wonderful old time diner! Friendly, clean atmosphere with fantastic southern soul food including gumbo, catfish, and jambalaya. Extensive contemporary breakfast, lunch, and dinner and fresh, seasonal homemade dessert menu. Something for everyone! Take out available. Try it-you won't be disappointed!
