However, I was... read more I arrived at KFC around 10:32 AM, just two minutes after it opened at 10:30 AM, hoping to be the first in line for some piping hot fried chicken. However, I was sadly mistaken about the state of the food. I ordered a 10-piece mix, fully trusting that it would be fresh out of the fryer. Since I live just five minutes away, I thought the chicken would still be warm when I got home. As I began to inspect the chicken, I noticed that one piece was noticeably darker than the others. Typically, the darker piece is the original recipe with its soft skin, while the lighter one tends to be the extra crispy variety. My daughter, who only eats original chicken from KFC, immediately commented on how everything looked overly crispy, which she doesn't prefer. When she took a bite of one of the pieces, it made an astonishingly loud crunch—louder than the crispy chicken. She wondered if she had picked the wrong piece, but I soon discovered that my original wing was also crispier than usual. It became clear to us that the original chicken had probably been cooked the day before and then refried this morning. This wasn’t just my conclusion; my son and husband also agreed. My husband remarked that the texture looked off, and he was right. It’s quite disappointing that this struggling chain hasn’t improved its standards. As the first customer, I certainly didn’t expect to receive day-old chicken. If this is standard practice at KFC, then shame on the company. Instead of refrying leftover chicken to serve to customers, they could donate it to a food bank, give it away to employees, or simply throw it out. I’ll include a couple of pictures so you can see the difference for yourself. By the end of this experience, I left feeling quite let down.

The dining area was clean, and the wait time for my food was impressive. Good service is becoming increasingly rare, so I really appreciate it when I experience it.
