Contribute FeedbackHC Tavern offers a mixed dining experience. The upper terrace can be uncomfortably hot, with butter and salt overpowering some dishes. Service can be hit or miss, with forgotten items and a need for multiple requests. However, free appetizers and accommodating managers help offset issues. While brunch offerings disappoint, the lunch and dinner menus shine. Knowledgeable servers elevate the experience, with standout dishes like lobster cargot, pork chop, and shrimp with pasta. Overall, HC Tavern impresses with fantastic food and service, despite occasional hiccups. A gem for those seeking high-quality dining in the Indianapolis area.
This was our second time to HCT. I’m a bit of an escargot connoisseur, and I can say that they have the best I’ve ever eaten. But our favorite part of dining there both times has been having Kristen C as our server. She’s the best! We’ll keep going back because she provided such a fun experience. It made all the difference in elevating the experience
Anniversary, married years. Arrived min early and was seated right away. The table was beside the bar and not very romantic. Noticed a table along the balcony with more comfy seating. My wife inquired if we might be reseated to that table, and the hostess was able to accommodate us. Very nice table, no bar noise, made our toast much more pleasant. Our waiter Fernando was quite efficient and got our bar orders timely. We ordered our meal, I had the grilled fish tacos, they were excellent. My wife had the smoked fried chicken, a bit dry and not piping hot, would not reorder in the future The restaurant gifted us a wonderful desert, had the sweet Cream pie and buttermilk ice cream, it was great and capped off our charming evening
Thank you for a lovely brunch to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday. Everything was perfect
Very good place for a nice dinner. I had the lobster escargot appetizer and a crabcake dinner. Both were absolute fantastic
Food was excellent as was wine. Our server, Taylor, was outstanding. The hostess, Freda, was very welcoming
