I dont usually place negative reviews however I feel this is necessary. We have been in Italy now for 2 weeks and are now used to how things go in restaurants. The food was great however, if you are obviously a tourist DONT go here. We tried our best with speaking Italian to the waiter, just to show we were trying. However compared to the other diners we experienced the following: 1. We were not shown the Specials Bo... View all feedback.
The food was very delicious and the waiter was so sympathetic and friendly! We were so happy with all : I only can recommend it
Stopped on the way out of town to our parking. Food was best we had all week in Italy. Clean and fresh, and reasonable price.
We arrived at the restaurant on the recommendation of those from the hotel where we are staying (Dimora Bandinelli . We were greeted by a Host with earphones : , but the service is ok. It was seen that they make differences between the tourist and the local customers. The locals received a glass of sparkling wine, the olive oil was different from ours, as was the balsamic vinegar. Like never in Italy I received a 5% discount and I was surprised. the house wine is acceptable (very aqueous and not at all corpulent .
This gem is found away from any tourist attractions, across the Arno (in the Oltrarno district) near a major bridge and busy roundabout. All the traffic and noise dissolves away when you enter and turn into the main dining room. It is a cozy space with warm lighting and cool stone walls and sconces. Very nice staff who put up with our terrible Italian and communicated effectively to us. Great house red wine (Chianti I believe). I had the Tagliatelle di cianguale (wild boar) and it was rich and delicious. It tasted like a beefier version of a bolognese, in fact it reminded me of a succulent pot roast that you might have on egg noodles. My wife had spaghetti alla carbonara and it was also scrumptious, just real egg and smoked pork flavor coming out. A nice space that is warm and inviting with gourmet level comfort food.
This restaurant is not in a tourist area. The quality of the food is great, so are the prices. Good wine selection. On the night we were there, they had entertainment. A local who sang and played a guitar...lots of American songs, and a few in Italian. We ate, drank wine, had dessert, sang a little, drank Limoncello. It was a perfect ending to our trip in Florence. Ciao!
