What User doesn't like about Pebbles:
I dined here tonight, and while all the waitresses were really nice, I have some complaints about the food. There were three of us, and we ordered two steaks. Unfortunately, the steaks were overpriced, cold, and had a lot of fat, to the point where we had to return one of them. As for the chicken, it was smothered in a very strong curry that tasted overly processed and quite powdery. I don't think I'll be coming back... View all feedback.
Hirasama Kingfish: Excellent. The fish was perfectly cooked to medium, with a crispy skin. The accompanying ingredients—carrot cardamom, cavolo nero, squid ink tuile, and wild samphire—added a variety of textures and flavors that complemented the kingfish beautifully. Seafood Linguine: Very Good. We opted to remove the chili to make it kid-friendly, but the rich flavors of the garlic and lime beurre blanc still created a delicious broth. The complimentary bread rolls, infused with a mushroom flavor (without any actual fungi), were a huge hit with our toddler.
Wow, what an amazing experience! We ordered the Surf and Turf and it was absolutely fantastic. The meat was cooked to perfection, just the way we wanted it. The potato was incredibly soft and creamy, almost like a garlic-infused mashed potato—simply delicious! The prawns were enormous and there were two of them, both huge and incredibly tasty. The sauce that accompanied the steak was also excellent, complementing everything beautifully. The bartender was delightful and prepared our drinks promptly. Our waitress was kind and had a great sense of humor, making us feel right at home. We felt warmly welcomed and will definitely be coming back. It was a wonderful experience, and we left very happy!
My partner and I didn't end up dining here, but the gentleman working at the Spike bar was incredibly friendly and helpful. Earlier tonight, we didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was fully booked, but this man (I regret not catching his name) asked his manager and managed to get us a seat! Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time and had to decline, but we will definitely be back.
We ordered drinks and food, and initially everything seemed fine. However, I overheard a couple at a nearby table who were black. When their food arrived, they requested cutlery, and the young man serving them told them it was on a table by the wall. When the man asked if he could retrieve it, the waiter dismissively told him to get it himself. I was appalled; for a supposed high-class restaurant, it’s unacceptable for diners to have to fetch their own cutlery. This treatment stood in stark contrast to how staff brought cutlery to our table of seven. Overall, the service was lacking. After our table was cleared, we had to chase down the waiter to ask for dessert at 9 PM, as they seemed to have vanished after clearing the tables. Given my experience, I wouldn’t choose to return to this restaurant.
I wasn't expecting such a wonderful dinner. The service from Melanie and Gretchen was exceptional and truly enhanced our celebration of our 45th wedding anniversary. Thank you!
