The Swilcan - Fife

Before playing golf at The New Course, we had lunch at this restaurant. It was crowded, but we had a reservation. The food was decent, but nothing stood out as particularly memorable. The prices were quite high for a lunch meal, but that's to be expected when dining at the St. Andrews Links clubhouse. Overall, we had a good experience but found it to be a bit overpriced.

This restaurant is the perfect spot for a meal before or after playing a round of golf. Everything they offer at St. Andrews is top-notch. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was fantastic with views of the golf courses. I absolutely adore this place.

My sister and I have booked a table for lunch at the left. we were shown on our table that had a beautiful view of the old course hotel and the skyalayas. Unfortunately it was about minutes before someone took our drinks order, and another minute to receive it. we ordered cullen skink for me and a sandwich of the day for my sister. a few minutes before the sandwich (which tastes nothing) arrived, and minutes after that the casual, rather tasteless cullen skink! at this time we were fed, not to mention starving. the whole experience was very disappointing!

We were once before and enjoyed it a lot, but my recent midday experience was very disappointing. the cullen skin was lukewarm and full of laeks instead of fish and the club sandwich was hard work, brot is the most remarkable ingredient. my companions seemed to find their eating quite acceptable. beautiful atmosphere and service and good over par for location.

The restaurant was not busy when we arrived as walkins, hoping to get a table. the smart waiter kindly found us a table at the window with magnificent views of the golf course old curs and the city. the sun seemed, but it was irony. outside we have ordered fish and chips and softdrinks. the service was fast, and the food was freshly cooked. beautiful crispy fish, muddy heaps and chips that were not from the freezer. it was delicious, no bones tasty and not greasy as we like it.
