We had breakfast in the pub, an English breakfast that was very good. The person who helped us even added more things than what was included, we left very satisfied. In addition, he treated us excellently, he cared about whether everything was okay and even took an interest in our visit to Saint Andrews. Also, everything was very clean. What BāM | Bar à Manger doesn't like about Greyfriars:
The hotel was bare-bones. This felt more like a youth hostel than a hotel. The positive side is that the rooms are big and you can easily share with a friend or other golfing buddies. Old, outdated, and in need of some upkeep. Really suits male golfers who just want to golf and don’t care where they sleep. Unsure of rooms, as not staying there. Only for drinks. Within walking distance of Town Centre. Pretty much all bars are within walking distance of each other. Friendly bar staff, good selection of drinks. Service: 5 Location: 5
The staff at this restaurant is extremely welcoming and the breakfast food is delicious. The location is very convenient, with easy access to the R A Clubhouse and the West Sands within walking distance. You can also easily explore the beautiful architecture of St Andrews University buildings from the hotel. The rooms and service are both rated as 4 out of 5, with the location receiving a perfect score of 5. Overall, the hotel is highlighted for its peaceful atmosphere.
Don't order the mac n cheese. You'll be robbed £2 for two inedible brick hard bred crusts. Service: 2
We loved it. Right in the Center of town and above a pub what more do you need. Check in super quick and easy. Nice size room on 1st floor. Elevator. No noise from pub, our room was right above it, but some from out front so we just shut the window. Huge bathroom. Nice breakfast in the morning. Didn’t get to have a dinner or even a beer at the pub but you should!!! Rooms: 5
