Loved this little gem of a find. The quality of the Farmshop produce is second to none, a butchery of the finest I have seen in a long time and am a staple Farmshop shopper. Really nice casual feel in the cafe, enough of a dejection to cater for the most. Portion size a tiny bit small (my children were still hungry). Definitively worth a trip. Just a tip to the staff in the cafe, a smile and a hello would be nice, to... View all feedback.
What Claire Williams doesn't like about Balgove Larder:
Not flexible or willing to accommodate customers. We are local and had walked from a nearby village with our dogs. Asked if we could have soup to sit outside. “Soup is only for inside”. Seems petty given a mere 5 feet away. Won’t go back and instead go to a host of other venues that are less rigid and more accommodating. View all feedback.
In a far away this is one of my favorite restaurants to eat breakfast
Very interesting restaurant and staff, I ordered Chateaubriand steak and I still didn't enjoy my steak after some staff confirmed my order again and again. Then we waited for two hours before she admitted that she forgot my order. Then very honestly told the owner that I had cancelled my order myself. And without any apology and with exceptional justification. The boss then came to the employee's aid and told me not to be unreasonable. Yes, I had spent three hours of my life wasting money on a taxi ride and nothing to eat to forgive a competent waiter who was full of truth It was my first very happy experience with the excellent service of steak barn and the excellent management skills of the owner, and I am destined to remember it for a long time!
I enjoyed the daily special of chili. very delicious! my companions had the bark stew and they were equally impressed. we have cut off our meal with excellent dessert!
Great place. personally, whether I bought a teller or not, does not detract from what is a nice place to have brunch on Sunday. I'm sure if you asked her nicely, they'd bring one. what is important to me and I am sure that the majority of people is that the service is excellent, eating fresh and tasty and everything in all is great place to come and shine, especially when they go on a walk on the beach. this is the most beautiful place to eat in sa, according to my opinion, and after the crowd of people who visit again and again, I am not the only person with this opinion. my only complaint against the place is that it is not open to dinner!
Babs stevenson. I myself and three friends visited balgove larder for the first time on Tuesday by midday. the girls behind the counter were nice. we ordered suppe and a crusty roll. that was brought to us by one of the girls. the suppe was very nice and the rolls were exceptionally good, but we had no teller to apply our rolls for the spread. that meant that we had to use our serviettes. not really a good idea. then we ordered tee and coffee and a few homemade shortbread. this, again we were brought by one of the girls. the tablet on which we brought this to us, warabsolutely filthy. the service was very hephazed. I suggest they would have better table service instead of...read more
