The staff were very friendly and offered a large menu. I had a Stornoway Black Pudding something that is not on the normal fish bars menu. It was delicious and hot, View all feedback.
What Mhairi H doesn't like about Armando's Fish:
I went to this restaurant for a fish dinner on a Sunday night. The fish was good and reasonably priced for a casual dining spot, but the batter was a little oily. However, the highlight of the meal was the chips - they were the best I've had in a long time. Armando hand cuts the chips, and it really shows in the quality. They must have been double or triple cooked, just like how my grandma used to make them in the ol... View all feedback.
Fantastic selection and worth for money. her eating is cooked in the rule to order, so it is hot and fresh to piping. poorando and his wife pink are friendly and.
Called up to ask if I could place and order for collection. The man on the phone was very rude to me when I asked to get everything on my meal. He advised me that this would be done when I came to collect. He then shouted at me to hurry up as he there was a queue! I was so shocked to be spoken to like this. If pre orders are an issue then they shouldn 't offer it as service. All he needed to say was 'sorry, unfortunately we don 't offer this service ' at peak times ' and that would have been fine! Not a great customer experience at all and the man clearly has anger management issues. Don 't take it out on your customers its the first rule of customer service. Gutted as a great chippy, just no need for speaking to anyone like that so reluctant to go back now
Was recommended Armandos by a few different people. I have to say it’s one of the best if not the best chip shop I’ve been to. We both had a fish supper, it was awesome, Also cause we’re greedy tried the Stornaway black pudding which was delicious. Needless to say we’ll be back and I recommend anyone that’s in the area or if u fancy a wee trip like we did to head here!!!
Armando's is a hidden gem and the best fish and chip shop in town. Despite living near one of the busiest chippies, we prefer to travel across town to Armando's because the food is that good. The fish is cooked beautifully, the portions are huge, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. In addition to the delicious fish and chips, they also serve Stornoway Black Pudding at a great price. It's cash only, so make sure to have some on hand, and be prepared to wait for your freshly cooked meal during slow times. Trust me, it's definitely worth the wait!
Excellent fish chip shop. Food is delicious always look forward to our fish supper on a Saturday night. The family who own it are very friendly.
