Jade Island - Fieldsboro
Jade Island
Description
Jade Island, a take-out-only gem in Bordentown, delivers a delightful Chinese dining experience despite some inconsistencies. Regular patrons praise the flavor-packed General Tso's chicken and hearty combo plates, with many finding the hot and sour soup particularly impressive. While recent visits have raised concerns about food quality and pricing discrepancies, standout dishes like pan-fried noodles with seafood and fresh Vegetable Lo Mein remain crowd favorites. However, the restaurant's decor leaves much to be desired, with dingy tablecloths and a haphazard aesthetic. For those seeking a comforting meal on-the-go, Jade Island still holds a special place in the community.

Jade Island is my favorite spot for Chinese food in Bordentown. Their General Tso's chicken is excellent, and the combo plate offers plenty of food. I really enjoy their hot soup as well. The service is quick, and the food is always delicious.
This is an exclusive restaurant currently. It was a nice surprise. I was in the area for work and I went in. I ordered Vegetable Lomein and two Vegetable Springrolls with a Ginger Ale. I thought it was a quick and easy order for lunch... I should be impatient because I was willing to go back to my work. My name was called and my order was ready. I thanked the lady and went to the cold. I ate the jumprolls on the way back to work and I had to slow it down was hot, soft and good. It wasn't just because I was hungry. I parked and sat in my car. I ate the best vegetables Lomein I tasted. I took an hour for lunch.
My only significant concern was the restaurant's interior, which could use improvement. The tablecloths were dingy and dirty, and while they do provide paper covers, they don't fully cover the tables. The overall decor felt haphazard, with bare walls and an odd TV in the dining area, giving the impression that the focus is more on takeout rather than providing a pleasant dining experience.
We hadn't ordered from Jade Island in a while, mainly for convenience, but we did last night and it was fantastic. It truly deserves its reputation as the best in the area, despite the extra travel time. I didn't realize how much I had missed it. The pan-roasted noodles with seafood are outstanding!
