I had just finished hiking Heiko's trail before coming here and I was looking for something to regain some lost calories. Most of the meals come with two sides, which I took full advantage of. The drinks are moderately priced and the sitting out on the patio to watch the sunset during a slow sunday night was quite memorable. Our server was very lovely gave us genuine conversation. OK great location, ambience, etc. Food items we had ( late lunch/snack stuff ) was very good and had some local beers and a unique Ceasar. That said, man, the service was not up to basic standards. Had a good dinner here last night. Basic pub food, nothing outstanding. Poutine tasted excellent, the gravy was very flavourful and the pulled pork gave it a nice smoky bite. Excellent selection of beer and I really enjoyed a local Fernie pilsner. Would not go out of my way to come back but was satisfied with the food, service and value received.
Good stop for a drink. Had some drink selections that I have not seen in other menus. We had nachos and they were really good. Service really sucked though as it was super slow. We had to ask where our food was and it came out right after that so think they just forgot about it. They weren't busy at all when we were there so not sure why they didn't notice how long we sat there with empty drinks and no food.

A lot of locals avoid this place even though the food is reasonable and the atmosphere is nice, the service is usually awful. This is not because the two or perhaps at best three servers who are trying to serve food, bartend for themselves, deliver their drink orders, and bus tables aren't trying their best; it's because the management chronically understaffs the restaurant. We would not normally patronize this place again but other friends had settled there and so we went along, because, you never know right? Wrong. Same old, same old. Had a perfectly good dinner, no problem there, but the service was atrociously slow, again. Our waiter worked his rear end off and as such we gave a very generous tip, but he spent the whole night apologizing for the shoddy service and just kept saying "they run a skeleton crew here". Hopefully next time we can talk our friends into someplace else.
