This small chip shop is fantastic! The fish and chips were delicious, and I can't wait to stop by again next time I'm in the area. It can get quite busy during peak hours because the food is so good, so be ready to wait. The staff is also very friendly.
Great chip shop, up there with the very best, terrific burgers and a big range as well as the usual suspects. Super breakfast for around a fiver.
I've eaten here a few times now. The food is consistently good. It does take a while to prepare. But they are preparing from fresh. So this is acceptable. The last carry out food I had was a one piece chicken box. This was one piece of southern fried type chicken breast plus stuffing, gravy and chips. It is very tasty. Two of my family members had cod chips. Again these were very tasty. Everything was well cooked and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service here is always friendly. Prices aren't cheap. But then the quality of the food is reflected in this in my opinion. You can eat in here. However, and this is where I have to give them four stars instead of five, they don't have any toilet facilities. If you were eating in here with small children then I think you would need these facilities.
I decided to visit this restaurant based on the reviews, but I found them to be incorrect. I ordered cod and chips with mushy peas and a cup of tea for myself, and my partner ordered cod and chips with just tea. However, the fish was not cod and was covered in a thick, heavy batter with more batter than actual fish. The chips were greasy and became inedible once they cooled down. I also did not receive the mushy peas I ordered, and was charged more than the menu stated at £15.90 for both meals. Additionally, the floor was dirty and could have used a sweep. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience and I will not be returning.
