It was OK ..... When I order 'roast beef ' .... I am hoping for roast potatoes .... and maybe horseradish sauce ? To be fair ... there was one 'roast ' potato (more likely deep fried but hey), just in case you might feel short changed on the potato front .... the meat was draped over a mound of mash potatoes and it came with a side of fries !!! ??? The food is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant is dog-friendly. I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is really nice and the restaurant is absolutely spotless.
Had 3 meals within our week holiday in the area. Excellent food. Unfortunately on 1 of our visits when we had just called in for a drink, 2 customers were openly vaping at the bar area. It would appear they were well known and the staff quite happily ignored what they were doing. I am asthmatic and with the smell affecting my chest I had to leave!!! Had this not happened I would be giving this review 5 .
The service at this restaurant was terrible. The staff was rude, unhelpful, and didn't even know what was on the menu. They forgot to bring our drinks and one of our meals. We didn't feel valued or welcomed at all. The food was average, with a rating of 3 out of 5. However, the service was horrendous, with a rating of 1 out of 5. It's a shame because this place has the potential to be nice.
This charming and welcoming bar offers delicious food and comes highly recommended. The menu has a good variety of options to choose from. The service is efficient and we will certainly be returning.
We visited The Mayfly on a Sunday evening, having booked on for food on the recommendation of a few different people. We were hosting guests from England, and were hoping for a good experience. We were seated promptly and received our drinks. The order was taken promptly too, and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. The food overall was good, however the waitress, on seeing some of us with empty plates, came and began to clear the table before one of our guests had finished eating. The poor lady felt rushed and handed her plate over, still with the remainder of her food on it. No acknowledgement from the waitress. Nor was there an offer of dessert or more drinks. Perhaps they needed to turn the table quickly (which seemed unlikely we hadn’t taken long to eat our meals, and the restaurant wasn’t overly busy), but whatever the reason, it was a somewhat disappointing experience. I’d go back for the food, but I couldn’t recommend the service on this occasion.

I visited for Sunday dinner and was pleased with the generous portions of delicious food. We enjoyed lamb, roast beef, turkey with stuffing, gravy, chips, mashed potatoes, and cabbage. Everything was fantastic. The price per person was between £20 and £30. Ratings: Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.

I had my surprise birthday party here, and it was the best night ever! We were joined by friendly co-workers, enjoyed delicious food, and the entertainment was fantastic.
We had our Christmas party here last night it was the best party night I've ever went too.. the atmosphere was brilliant, the band was amazing and there aren't enough words for the service and food we all received!! Everything was first class would highly recommend this venue.. hope too see youse next year!! Great work guys
Was only at a concert so cant say anything about food etc, seemed a lovely friendly place and so beautifully warm
Now, I and my family, where at a meal on the 14th february, staff very friendly and eating was nice and good value for money!
