Surprised how this place had such high review score. Owner was nice and helpful but all the rest disappointing and expensive for what you eat. Very confusing menu and prices. I wouldn't reccomend nor return. Some of the reviews that score this place poorly seem to be correct. View all feedback.

If they want simple but fresh, well made grilled fish, that is their place. not a chic beacon, but sardinen, dourada. maybe not the place to utter. but one has to see in color. select them from the refrigerator and 5 min afterwards on their dish.
Search for restaurants in faro, the fresh fish offered, we finally found o chalavar. so glad we made it! it was exactly what we wanted - a simple place that cooks fresh fish. no one speaks much (or any) English. no menu, they only choose from the seafood case and the man behind it grills their fish. with potatoes. we had tuna steaks, a whole white fish and a pitcher wein for 31 euro.
