very good food. we had the lamb and the living being from the main menu and both were very good. the facility and atmosphere in the dining room was very dated and felt like the 1980s. white tablecloths and dark wood chairs and it felt just old-fashioned some like. I also didn't like that the table next to us had been turned by 90° so that the person sat there sat with view and hearing about our table that was just go... View all feedback.
Haven't been to The Lamb for some time big mistake one of the best meals we have had this year. We will be returning very soon.
The food and beer we had was very good, but we didn’t have much. Between four of us we had 6 pints of Stable Genius, 1 bottle of cider, 3 bowls of chips, 1 pâté on toast, 1 whitebait and 1 devilled kidneys on toast. £80. We may have been caught out by the “optional” service charge that a previous reviewer warned about. I didn’t check the bill closely enough. We thought the prices high (yes I know everything’s getting a lot more expensive) and the menu didn’t really appeal enough to spend a lot, so we ate small. To my mind it’s not really a lunch menu. We ate, by choice, in the bar area. The ambience is not good, and hasn’t been for many years; it’s not really much like a pub at all. We had been planning this visit with friends for some weeks, having been tempted by a 50% discount on food promotion that was advertised on Facebook as being available, for first visits, until the end of the year. Two miles into our six mile walk to The Lamb I received an email telling me that the promotion had been discontinued. Disappointed!
A lovely Sunday lunch venue. The food was really very good with a choice of meats (and a veggie option) served with all the trimmings. Will definitely go back.
Good food but watch for the “optional” 12.5% service charge
Very good food. we had the lamb and the living being from the main menu and both were very good. the facility and atmosphere in the dining room was very dated and felt like the 1980s. white tablecloths and dark wood chairs and it felt just old-fashioned some like. I also didn't like that the table next to us had been turned by 90° so that the person sat there sat with view and hearing about our table that was just gone as quiet anyway. Why don't they turn on the same way when my side is mutual? the bar area also looks tired and outdated and does not invite dreadfully to a quiet drink. service was very good and waiter was very friendly and attentive.
