**Dining Experience at Rosewild: A Mixed Review** Rosewild captivates with its inviting ambiance and splendid views of downtown, particularly enchanting on winter evenings. While some patrons rave about friendly and attentive service, like that of Jacie, others lament the slow pace and disorganization. Dishes like the breakfast pot pie and petite gem salad earn high marks, yet the inconsistency is evident—omelets fall short and steaks appear subpar. Despite moments of delight, many diners express disappointment at the price-to-quality ratio, with limited offerings not matching expectations. Overall, Rosewild presents a mixed bag of experiences, leaving diners contemplating their next visit.
Went here for my anniversary dinner. AMAZING hanger steak! Seared hard with a lovely sauce to boot. The whipped potatoes were simple, but flavorful and buttery. Our server was wonderful and very informative about the nightlife of downtown fargo. Overall awesome service and food!!
This was a shockingly bad dining experience. Service was exceptionally slow for our two-person dining party. My wife ordered a gin martini that arrived late without any type of garnish. Then an appetizer arrived – 40 minutes after we’d been seated. Our second appetizer arrived at the same time as our entrées. This second appetizer consisted of three scallops and cost $20. My $75 steak was one of the worst I’ve eaten in my life. I’ve never encountered as much gristle as I did that night! I was famished so I ate most of the steak, but our waiter only checked on the quality of our meal once – at the end of our main course. When I told the waiter the steak was simply a bad cut of meat, nothing was done. All the while we were dining, none of the surrounding tables were cleared, so by the end of the evening we were surrounded by garbage on all adjacent tables. It was absurdly bad! The quality of the food, service and ambiance surrounded by other patrons’ waste! are absolutely not commensurate with the price you pay. You’d be well advised to steer clear of this train wreck of a restaurant. What’s worse is that we are from out of town Canada and were hoping this would be the one upscale meal of our short trip. Instead, we paid a ridiculous amount of money $185 USD $250 CAD for a seriously disappointing meal.
This is my second time eating at Rosewild and this experience surpassed the last experience. Shannon, our server, took such great care of my daughter and I. She was sweet and friendly but efficient. My daughter said after dinner “I think she’s my favorite waitress we’ve ever had.” We both ordered steaks that were phenomenal and cooked to perfection. Our three appetizers were delish and I’m sure if we had room for dessert it would have been amazing as well.
Sounds crazy, but seriously, have the Oatmeal for breakfast! Even if you aren't staying at the Jasper Hotel, take the time to try breakfast here. Atmosphere is upscale but casual, server was very friendly. Full coffee shop is a bonus. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20
Went here for our anniversary dinner last night, and service was ok...We started off with the appetizer of smoke salmon. The salmon dip seemed to be just mashed up smoked salmon with no other additives for flavor. The potato skins that it is served with were so salty you could only eat 1/2 of the bowl they come with. Next, the entrees. I ordered the ribeye medium rare for $53. The restaurant was not busy by any means and it took us 1.5 hours to get our food. Our waitress even said she didn 't know what was taking so long. I received the steak and the cook was well . Also, thinking for $53 you would get a decent sized piece of meat. Nope. It was maybe a 1/2 thick and 5 inches in diameter. Maybe equaling 4-5oz. The mashed potatoes they came with were so overpowering with salt and garlic that it was hard to eat. The best thing that the steak came with was the glaze that they put on the steak. Definitely will not be back! Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: $30–50
