Reviews - Marlin's Express

American, Coffee, Cheese

Reviews summary

A conveniently located airport eatery serving surprisingly fresh sandwiches, quesadillas and wraps, but hampered by uneven, often very slow service and occasional billing mistakes. While some staff are warm and efficient and food sometimes arrives promptly, others report long waits at the bar and one-person staffing bottlenecks. Best for travelers with extra time who prioritize quality airport food; avoid if you’re on a tight connection.

Was Clay Caldwell at Marlin's Express a mag?

I give this place 5 stars because the ham and cheddar cheese sandwich I had was comparable to one I would make at home. The bread was fresh and moist, with plenty of quality meat that filled the entire sandwich. This is by far the best airport sandwich I've ever experienced! Kudos to Marlin!! View all feedback.

What Mike R dislikes about Marlin's Express:

Like many Americans, I'm getting back into the groove of traveling for work by plane. I know that airports are often known for poor customer service, but this place takes the prize. I sat at the bar for 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. It wouldn’t have been such a big deal if they were busy, but that wasn’t the case—I was the only person there. View all feedback.

I stood at the bar for 10 minutes while the bartender ignored me, chatting and joking with another customer instead. After waiting another 10 minutes, she finally told me to take a seat and that she would come by to take my order. We sat down for another 30 minutes and could see her continuing to joke with other patrons. She barely served anyone during that time. After waiting for 40 minutes, we decided to leave without having received any drinks or food.

If you don't have at least 1.5 hours to spare, I recommend against ordering from this place. We've visited three times, and we're finished trying. The service is excruciatingly slow and rather rude. The food is decent, but it's not worth the lengthy wait or the frustration it brings.

The food surpassed my expectations. The quesadilla and chicken wrap were both fresh and served promptly. The woman who brought out the food was extremely friendly. Overall, it was a much better experience than the food available after the security checkpoint. I didn't visit the bar, though.
