Situated in the shadow of the Famous Portchester Roman Settlement with a Castle built in the early 12th Century, our welcoming Pub is a charming destination. The original Pub, dating back to 1650, is at the heart of a village with many period buildings boasting interesting architecture and thatched roofs. With a large car park to the rear and a spacious patio area, guests can relax and take in the atmosphere while enjoying an al-fresco meal and refreshing drink. Inside, you will find characterful separate dining areas, open fires, and ample seating. Our menu features an extensive choice of locally sourced and freshly prepared meals, complemented by an excellent selection of real ales - including a rotating guest ale selection. We look forward to welcoming you and hope you will enjoy your visit as much as all our regulars do.

The Cormorant is a cozy and welcoming pub and restaurant, perfect for a classic and friendly experience. While some diners were let down by the roast dinner, others enjoyed the Sunday lunch deal, praising the presentation and taste of the dishes. Despite service mishaps and hit-or-miss food quality, the lovely staff and atmosphere at The Cormorant make it a worthwhile visit for a casual meal. With a dog-friendly policy, ample parking, and nearness to attractions, this pub offers a pleasant dining experience overall.

Good pub food but cooked well and tasty. Good sized portions. Sunday lunch book first, otherwise not guaranteed a seat. Advised to come reasonably early as very popular and certain dishes can run out. Staff are friendly and I enjoy the atmosphere. Close to Portchester Castle and on the main high street, very pretty village. Well worth a visit. Service: 5 Location: 5

We were expecting something special, the place looked welcoming and the price was high for a roast dinner in a pub. The dinner we got was cheap tasting, flavourless, small and I felt robbed. No one asked if our food was ok, probably because they knew it wasn't. I definitely wont be eating in there again. They badly need a new chef or to reduce the price of their food considerably.

Warm friendly service, delicious lamb shank and mixed grill. Let down 1 star) for awful dry lasagna and lack of care when it was reported to the staff.

We were out and fancied a Sunday roast so we popped into the Cormorant. The server was polite and found us a table quite quickly. The service was prompt and the food was good. All in all a positive experience. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
