Absolutely brilliant can’t fault them great portions fantastic price lovely lovely people.
This restaurant is still a great place to dine. The new owners have maintained the same cooking style and delicious flavors. The only downside I have noticed is the reduction in menu items. The staff is nice, polite, and friendly.
You might have to wait a little bit longer but it's worth it for the fresh taste of yummy fish and proper chips.
Taking advantage of a promotion in the local newspaper, my wife and I purchased a medium fish and chips from Castle Takeaway in White Hart Lane Portchester. The portions were huge, the fish overlapping the plate, and the amount of chips served, was the biggest portion I had ever been served anywhere, and this was 'MEDIUM ' Goodness knows what a 'large ' would amount to. The fish was perfectly cooked, in a succulent batter, and the chips were also delicious. The cost for this massive meal was only £4.80, which must be the cheapest for the size of the meal, for many a mile. My wife and I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone in the vicinity of Portchester, Fareham, Paulsgrove or Cosham, who are seeking a quality but inexpensive fish and chip meal.
