We shared a warm octopus starter and then had a plate of fried calamari, prawns little fish and a plate of grilled prawn calamari skewers with a side of fries and a shared strawberry cheesecake together with a bottle of chilled verdicchio. It was all fantastic and so tasty we would definitely recommend eating here.

The last few years has seen the introduction of modern Italian cuisine at AlMere and Il Galeone. These restaurants are good and I understand the need for a fresh approach. However Mamadera for me is the quintessential Italian seafood restaurant fresh, perfectly cooked and presented. Today I had sea bass baked in the oven with potatoes olives thyme and tomatoes. The small but key ingredient was a little orange zest which just lifted it into heavenly. I wont go on about the mussel soup with thyme and exquisite toasted bread. Everything about Mamadera is special. The staff are wonderful and so efficient. There were only 2 on today but they did 50 covers at lunch with grace and kindness. Tutto, tutto bene.
