Present Restaurant offers a unique and authentic dining experience with Vietnamese cuisine, served in an elegant dining room atmosphere. The menu features dishes such as green papaya salad with beef and liver jerky, jumbo lumps of crab meat, seafood sautéed over crunchy egg noodles, egg noodle soup with roast duck, whole rock fish steamed in light soy sauce, soft shell crab with lemon sauce, and a variety of hot pot options. I discovered this restaurant years ago when my kids were toddlers, so worried at first. But the staff were amazing and food outstanding. I just went again this weekend and was loving the fact that the food and staff is still amazing. Highly recommend,little hidden gem of Falls Church. Definitely one of my Top 10 favorites of Falls Church.
We had ch? giò r? (hand made rice thread wrapper filled with marinated prawn pork, fried until crispy and served with fish sauce), bánh bèo chén (steamed rice cake in shallow cup topped with dried shrimp, served with sweet fish sauce), bánh xèo(Saigon style crepe with pork, shrimp, bean sprouts green onions, served with fresh lettuce, herbs fish sauce), cá kho t?(caramelised fish fillets cooked in a clay pot) and bún riêu (gumbo soup with crab paste shrimp patty thin rice noodle withfried tofu tomato wedges). If I go back to Present, it will be for their ch? giò r?, which was my favourite dish. I couldhave eaten 10 on my own. Everything was good but the fish used for the cá kho t? had that fresh water, somewhat chemical tasteI'm not a fan of and was way too sweet for my liking. The bún riêu's soup which I was so looking forward to tasted more like abland tomato soup than a crab and pork based tomato soup which was disappointing. Its saving grace was its ingredients whichwere delicious. _______________________________________________ Back at Present because I'm obsessed with their springrolls.Outside of Vietnam, Present really has the best Vietnamese springrolls I've eaten. This time around I also ordered Ch? GiòTôm Cua (shrimp, crabmeat, pork and vegetables in a thin rice wrapper, fried until crispy and served with fish sauce) actually more delicious than the Ch? Giò R? I'd previously fallen in love with. I really wanted Ch? cá Lã V?ng (Hanoi stylemarinated fish fillet, served with vermicelli, basil leaves, mint, peanut, dill, Hanoi shrimp paste, and sesame rice cracker),but the fish used for this dish was tilapia and I would never eat tilapia. I ordered the Mì Xào Giòn D? Bi?n (jumbo lumpcrabmeat, tiger shrimp, scallop and calamari sautéed with fresh vegetables, served over crunchy egg noodles) instead. Present is a wonderful find. Mixology of authentic Vietnamese dishes spanning from North to South. If you thought gourmet kitchen will leave you hungry, think again. I have received presents multiple times and harvested phenomenal experience everytime.
First time at Present viet restaurant and it exceeded my expectations. I was visiting a friend and he took me to this restaurant for dinner. I love vietnamese food, but I never get to try different dishes other than Pho. This time my friend ordered Banh Xeo, Bun thit nuong, and Bun rieu or Bun bo hue?. I really liked Bahn xeo it was very soft and creamy taste. The dishes came with huge servings and their service was excellent.I will definitely be back to try different types of food.
