Feedback
Located in a charming side street, Sumo is a small yet inviting restaurant that has garnered a mix of reactions. While some patrons rave about the freshness of the sushi and the flavorful stir-fries, others criticize the authenticity and quality of certain dishes. The ambiance is pleasant, with attentive service noted, though patrons occasionally find the staff rushed. Prices are reasonable, and generous portions often lead to leftovers. Despite inconsistent experiences with some menu items, many loyal customers return for the enjoyable meals and friendly service, making Sumo a local favorite worth exploring.
This restaurant does not serve authentic Japanese cuisine. The service, meal type, and atmosphere all received a rating of 1 out of 5. The price per person for dinner is £20-£30.
I absolutely adore Sumo, as I have been a regular customer for years. Recently, I decided to try their takeaway option and ordered the sushi platter and classic katsu curry. The portions were generous, and I had plenty of leftover curry to enjoy the next day. The sushi was always fresh and delicious, and I appreciate that they offer a takeaway option (although you must collect it yourself, as they do not offer delivery). The restaurant can be quite quiet at times, which may make you feel like you have to speak softly because of the small space. However, this wouldn't deter me from coming back because the food is simply fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive.
