Stop my favorite place for a meal on the drive between Houston and Dallas. This place is the real deal, the quintessential American café/dinner. Food and service are great. They treat you beautifully whether you are a local or just go through. My favourite menus are the catfish and chicken fajita salad. Get some cake to go: it is made with love by the mysterious Cake Lady! View all feedback.

Breakfast was great! Had to have it warmed up as it arrived cool. No butter on toast. Server was nice enough, but very loud. Homemade pies? Crust isn?t? disappointing! When you have one customer, server should check on them once in a while, than payingall the attention to a huge to go order. Good food and fair prices! I will go back next time I?m in the area. If you're looking for a great experience and pretty decent food, served by delightful and charming staff, then stop in and enjoy. Be prepared for more of the old school road side diner than the chain steakhouse. This place brought back a flood ofmemories from a time when eating Along the way on a trip was a a treat.
Absolutely charming restaurant, the owners were great. The food is really good! I got the chicken fried chicken with gravy, baked potato, and house salad. The ranch dressing tasted homemade, the chicken was perfectly fried and nothing was greasy. Theportions are not too big and just the right amount. Fired fish is the Friday special, my boyfriend got that and loved it. Wewill be back.
