Wow, I can't believe I'm going through this all these years. I'll take many trips to Houston and that'll be a must for me on the way. The buffet is huge and it is home cooking. There is something for everyone from young to old. The bread they bring out is delicious and a great start. You have a great menu, but I just couldn't pass the buffet. What Paula Hahn doesn't like about Sam's Original Resturant Bbq:
We were regular visitors before COVID. On a recent trip to North we decided to stop in. Chicken fried steak was not good. Tough. Salad was just ok. Soup was great and we were looking forward to the pie for dessert and we're so disappointed. The apple was cold and dry. Chocolate was not great either. It was our son's bday and all he enjoyed was the brisket. A lot of money for just ok food. View all feedback.
Great service and yummy bread. Unfortunately the BBQ dishes did a number on our stomachs. We think it was the ribs because they smelled odd and didn’t taste good. We only had a little, but apparently that was enough. Made for a unpleasant ride to Dallas (with lots of pit stops).
They have a great buffet, or you can order a meal... we did the buffet, and they had a nice salad bar and plenty of choices... I enjoyed the fried catfish and shrimp... Recommend for any meal
Sam's has a wonderful buffet, or you can order off the menu. Food is excellent, wait staff is very attentive and prices are quite reasonable.
Staff is friendly, buffet is well stocked, food is ok. Expected a few more choices for the price, but would stop here again.
This is our go to place when we want a really good salad. Everything is very fresh, the fruit is yummy!
