I’ve been visiting Ohkura for about 15 years, and it’s always been a fantastic spot for Japanese cuisine. Today, I tried the tonkatsu donburi, which I haven’t had in a while. It was amazing—quick and delicious! View all feedback.
What Heather t doesn't like about Ohkura:
I absolutely love this restaurant! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the tempura batter is light and delicious. The salad dressing is fantastic as well! Every time we visit, the food is consistently great, and I appreciate having such a reliable spot. I haven't tried the sushi yet, but everything else we've had—like the noodles, tonkatsu, and teriyaki beef—has been excellent. Plus, it's conveniently located right... View all feedback.
It was really good. I had the Travis roll and Ohkura roll and they were both delicious, also very huge rolls. I also ordered the Seasame chicken but it didn't come with any sauce. It was still good but could have used something on it.
Fresh and delicious food both times I have eaten here. The service has been friendly and efficient each visit. I will be back.
Have been dining here since the 1980's. Restaurant has gone through at least one ownership change that I am aware of without any changes in the quality of food, presentation and service. Think the busiest time of day is lunch service as the restaurant is located very close to Travis Air Force Base. We were there for dinner. Seated immediately. Service was excellent. Server was pleasant and attentive. Sushi excellent. The sushi chef has been there for as long as I can remember. Believe he is from Okinawa originally. Brought a friend of mine's mother here for her birthday. She is from Japan and found the menu to be authentic. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
I’ve been in the area for a couple of months and wanted to try a sushi spot. Ohkura is conveniently located just outside the main gate of the Air Force Base. At first glance from the road, it might not seem like much, but stepping inside reveals a clean, quiet, and casual atmosphere, with polite and friendly staff. We were seated immediately, and the team promptly brought our drinks, answered all our questions about the menu, and even offered some helpful suggestions. The food is made fresh at the sushi bar, and it not only looked fantastic but also tasted wonderful. The prices were typical for a casual sushi restaurant, and the menu offered a wide range of options. We would definitely come back here again.
The sushi is consistently fresh and has the perfect balance of fish to rice. While the tempura sauce could use more flavor, the miso soup is quite enjoyable.
