This was my first time here even after living here for a decade. The food was great and the prices were very good for what you get. Edamame is pictured on the menu, but not listed so just ask. I was surprised about sitting with a lot of people I didn't know (not really a date night place) but it made out more fun actually. The gyoza was some of the best I've ever had and was cooked perfect. The staff was kind, quick,... View all feedback.
What Katlin Girard doesn't like about Shogun Japanese Steak House:
Called ahead for reservations, arrived to have multiple walk ins sat in front of us and then told we had to wait for a table…. Upon waiting for a table another party same size) walked in no reservations) and were called before us until I spoke up again. Just a bad start so I won’t return and don’t waste time on calling ahead View all feedback.
I have to admit I'm a little disappointed with this restaurant right now. Went for lunch today, and they have made some menu changes. Then you changes that don't make logical sense. They used to have a vegetable lunch in the hibachi area where you could just get vegetables instead of the meats with vegetables and rice. Now, they tell me the only way you can get vegetables and rice only is with the dinner portion which costs 20 bucks! Yep, unfortunately they have chosen to make a vegetable only lunch more expensive than many of the meat options. To me, this just doesn't make sense. The vegetables and rice are obviously cheaper than the meats. I hope they change this back. It isn't like they didn't have a vegetable lunch before, because they did! I've ordered it many times here! I'm hoping this changes. Because it's ridiculous to pay more for a vegetable meal then for meats vegetables and rice. This is going to hurt their business I'm afraid. Don't get me wrong, the food is still good.I love this place! I always sit at the Hibachi Grill! The food is amazing. The food is always hot, the staff is always friendly, and the place is reasonably clean. Pro tip, if you come for lunch during the week, the place is usually not very busy at all. There is usually little to no wait for a table at the Hibachi Grill during lunch time on weekdays. Be aware though, this place does get rather busy on weekends and at night. Very good food! I love their vegetable lunch.
Had dinner here last night. Servers and staff are always friendly and attentive. Oscar is the best sushi chef in town and Lynn is one of the best. No matter what you order the food is always fresh and delicious.
First time here, We were told wait was 30-40 min which was ok after about 5 min at the bar they seated us which was wonderful but then we were basically waiting over 30 min at the table before the chef finally came over. The smokiness in the room was almost very uncomfortable. My eyes were burning and I was getting a headache from the propane fumes. Thank goodness AC or better ventilation kicked on after about 20 min of stewing in it and it got much better. From there service was great with getting order in and their salad is nice and fresh romaine way to much dressing but that seems to be the norm at all of them (I got to remember to ask for dressing in the side) the clear broth soup is really flavorful and tasty. The hibachi portions are good as well, chef uses black pepper and it’s amazing what a difference that makes from other places. Everything is well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Veggies come first zucchini, onions and cabbage a nice change, then rice then meats and you get it all in a timely enough manner nothing is getting cold by the time you get the next portion. The filet mignon is 10/10 perfection. By the time I was done eating the smoky beginning was a dusty memory. Filet shrimp and chicken combo runs $35 and you have enough food leftover for one if not 2 more meals.
Huge quantities of food! Service wonderful. Great menu choices from sushi to calamari and onward.
My family went there to celebrate my niece's graduation from high school. The Grill Sgt was great, but some of the chicken and steak were kind of overcooked. Overall, the service of workers was outstanding. We will come back again. Vegetarian options: NA
