Reviews - Margoux
Reviews summary
Margoux offers a mixed dining experience, resonating with both praise and critique. While the ambiance is inviting and the food presentation is commendable, diners have encountered issues like slow service and limited vegan options. Popular dishes, such as the chicken, have received high marks for flavor, though portions are deemed small for the price. Many appreciate the attentive staff and the relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for gatherings. Despite some disappointments, like a lackluster salt beef sandwich, the overall sentiment leans positive, with several patrons eager to return for another visit to savor delightful meals and cocktails.

Margoux, a sorta fine dining establishment, it has a great atmospher, good food, but long wait time for the food... We booked a table for 5 lads for a good Friday night dinner (booking is highly recommended), and immediately got the table. Customer service was good and the place has a nice vibe at night... Food tasted good but expect to pay a bit more than usual, smallish portions, and.... a veeerry long time. All 7 of us only ordered main and sides, it almost took 1hr to get our meal. Luckily we had each others company and drinks to keep ourselves busy. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
Recently had brunch here. The restaurant was partly full with a few large groups which added to the atmosphere. We booked so we were promptly seated. We had the wagyu burger, the chicken burger and the camembert to share as a starter. The wait team was polite. The food was good. The wagyu was pulled beef and was tasty and a bit salty but enjoyed it. The chicken burger was good. Service is included. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £60–70
Margoux has the best roast dinner... EVER! Not exaggerating, it is the best! The cocktails and deserts are also lovely. Staff are so friendly, my friends brought their 1 year old son and all the staff made such an effort to make them feel welcome and catered for. There was a man singing and playing the piano which was so lovely! We had such a great Sunday afternoon! Thankyou all so much! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40
Top service every single time . A Fantastic team that always cater for our needs and the best cocktails we've ever had . Not to mention if your cocktail choice isn't on the menu , you can request at the bar and the staff will do their best to present you with your request . The most stunning food in Devon and never a single complaint we have been dining with margoux for years . Making any celebrations special ! Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: £20–30

This was our second visit for a Sunday roast, and I have no complaints. The service was exceptional, and the food was flawless. We brought a couple along with us, and they both enjoyed their meals as well. We're definitely planning to check out the new venue!
The food was amazing, and the service was excellent. It's a delightful spot to dine and relax. We would highly recommend it.
This was my second visit, and once again, the food in Exeter was outstanding. It was their final night on Mary Arches Street before they move to larger premises on Bedford Street. I hope they can maintain the same enchanting quality at the new location.
Absolutely fantastic experience. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Service was very personal, knowledgeable but relaxed. Loved the backdrop of 80s tunes :

This was my second visit, and once again, it was the best meal I've had in Exeter. It was the last night on Mary Arches Street before they move to a larger location on Bedford Street. I'm hopeful that they will maintain their charm in the new space!

The food was amazing every course and the red wind was the best I have had for a long time~ really nice to have such a friendly host at the door when we arrived and throughout the meal makes all the difference. Can’t wait to visit at new venue in Princess hay
Turned up on Valentine’s Day the the atmosphere was amazing! We got to the table and they took a Polaroid of us to give at the end of the meal which was really nice. Food was spectacular couldn’t fault it one bit. Service was also amazing with friendly staff and the overall vibe was just perfect for the occasion.
