What Michael Schuett dislikes about Il Cornicello:
I think it's important to be clear this restaurants lack of consideration is worthy of a demotion to any and all reviews you will read. I came in here alone having called and driven 15 miles from a few towns over as I was in town for a marathon. I wanted a pasta dish to carb up and the reviews were worthy. I was turned away for a seat at the bar simply told they just sat a few people. When I asked to wait or come bac... View all feedback.

Was very excited to eat here with my lady last night, we had to reserve our dining experience 3 weeks in advance, this alone led us to believe it was going to be an amazing night out. We were almost instantly let down. Upon arriving we ordered our first drinks, not great, unbalanced and just not very good. I will say the pasta itself was good, as they make it there, but that is the pasta itself. The sauces were bland and lacked flavor. We were really bummed out. An evening we had been looking forward too for so long fell so flat. Side note, it was weird as they had what we considered a very racist poster representing a caricature of an Asian person eating a giant bowl of noodles, kinda weird and uncomfortable ambiance. Too bad, but live and learn. Hope this is helpful as this seems to be like one of the many places popping up that is popular just because it is exclusive and doesn 't need to deliver on the other aspects of dinning like...food. The waitress was very kind as a side note.
Simply one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The chef is creative and is always changing the menu, usually weekly, sometimes daily. Which keeps it fresh and fun. The food is spectacular. The staff are friendly and fun. And, they haveseveral excellent wines specially imported from Italy. Overall, a great experience. A gem of a restaurant in Exeter.
We saw this restaurant on NH Chronicle and we?re super excited to try it! My husband cooks Italian including homemade pasta and we have visited Italy. We also eat out often and are always looking for new places. We weren?t able to get in for about sixweeks, but that?s OK, if it?s good and worth the wait. We were terribly disappointed! We ordered the bruschetta for anappetizer and also the Panzanella with peaches. The bruschetta was a disappointment as the bread was soggy in the middle. Ienjoyed the Panzanella, but my husband did not. The bread and oil we ordered for the table was awful the bread was dry and theoil bland. For our main meal I ordered the bolognese and my husband the deconstructed eggplant parmigiana. The star of mybolognese was the pasta which was home made and cooked perfectly, but the bolognese was dry and bland and no tomatoes! Theeggplant was thick and mushy but did have a nice crust. The pasta served under the eggplant was not cooked right, some piecesbeing mushy and others crunchy. Zero complaints about the dessert! They only had 2 choices, but the pistachio olive oil cakewas amazing! The staff was wonderful smiling, welcoming, attentive. But, I think the next time I?m craving Italian food, I?llask my husband to cook for me or head to our favorite Italian restaurant in Manchester, Piccola
