Reviews - Jb Jamaican
Reviews summary
Nestled on Nostrand Avenue, this restaurant is marred by consistently poor service and subpar food quality. Guests have reported apathetic staff, unprofessional appearance, and a confusing menu presentation that detracts from the experience. Dishes often arrive misordered or resembling prepackaged heat-and-eat options rather than freshly prepared fare. Patrons have noted an unpleasant atmosphere, characterized by a lack of appetizing aromas typically expected in a Caribbean eatery. Despite a few isolated positive feedback about certain dishes, the overwhelming consensus is to seek authentic Caribbean cuisine elsewhere, making this spot one to avoid for a satisfying meal.

The worst. The menu is written in pen on 8,5x,6 paper, taped to plexiglass with no pricing. The young woman who wants on you looks like she just got out of bed and is so tired. I could hardly hear her when she spoke and acted like she would rather beanywhere else. I ordered 2 beef patties and one piece of coco bread. I got 2 pieces of coco bread and one beef patty. The mancooking in the back, seemed more concerned about getting back to what they were watching on the telly. Beef patties and Cocobread are basically heat and eat items. I am quite sure the are not making either in the store..it smelled like there was nokind of cooking ever in that store. If you can't go to Brooklyn anywhere down Nostrand Ave and get some real Caribbean food, don't waste your time or money here. The sell Holden Crust and tower Isle beef patties at Shop Rite.
I had goat, callalou, and rice and beans-The goat and the rice and beans were perfect, the only thing I can suggest is less salt in the callalou. I have eaten Jamaiican food before and think this restaurants food good and the people who took my order werevery pleasant. This is a takeout restaurant.
If there were an award for the worst customer service, Jb Jamaican would easily take the prize. The young woman at the front had an attitude that perfectly matched her dull and lifeless service, as if she didn’t even want to be there. Her appearance was unprofessional, looking as though she had just rolled out of bed for work. I placed my order from a difficult-to-read menu written on a piece of paper. When my food arrived, I wasn’t feeling the vibe at all, so I knocked on the door to cancel my meal. When the door opened, I noticed there was no smell of food cooking whatsoever. I asked for a refund, and with a noticeable attitude, the young woman returned my money. The only positive part of this experience was getting my money back so I could order elsewhere. Hopefully, Jb Jamaican makes some changes to protect their reputation.
I’m very upset—the food was overly salty and didn’t resemble the curry goat I ordered. Additionally, I ordered chicken noodle soup but never received it. I’ve tried contacting the restaurant around 20 times with no response. Just because I ordered through GrubHub doesn’t mean they should ignore me. Don’t waste your money on this place—they are dishonest. I want a full refund.

I thought the oxtail was good, but I ordered delivery and they never informed me that one of the two dishes I ordered was unavailable. Instead of contacting me, they just sent one plate of food. I had ordered for both myself and my partner while we were staying in a hotel. This was very disappointing, and we ended up eating separately because I had to order for him from somewhere else.
I ordered two beef patties and a piece of coco bread, but what I received were two pieces of coco bread and a meat patty that looked more like bark than beef. The cook in the back seemed more interested in whatever was playing on the television than in preparing food. The beef patties and coco bread were served in a round, heat-and-eat style, which made it clear they were not made fresh at the restaurant. The place had an unappetizing smell, and it felt as if no real cooking had ever taken place. If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food in Brooklyn, particularly on Nostrand Ave, you should definitely avoid this spot. You're better off heading to ShopRite for Holden Crust and Tower Isle beef patties. Save your time and money!
If I could give no stars that would be it. The food is beyond salty. How is the rice full of salt. I ordered the oxtails rice and peas and callaoo all salt no flavor. I wasted my money. Couldn’t even eat it.
First time ordering from there and when I got in my car with the food, immediately something didn't smell right. Stopped at another store and when I got back in my car it smelled very bad, hoping it wasn't the chicken. I smelled the oxtails, they were great, smelled the chicken, also good. But when I got to the cabbage, foul smell and bad taste I was not expecting it to be the cabbage but it was bad on both of my trays.
So crazy eating was anointed it didn't look like curry goats I ordered chicken soup that I never get to try to contact with the restaurant about 20 times without answer only because I order by scrub stroke they never order their money with these people they thieves I want a full refund
