What an absolute gem! Incredible farm-to-table reconstruction of traditional Alentejan dishes. Locally foraged mushrooms, oak bark infused mayo, perfectly cooked pike perch were some of the highlights, but everything was delicious. The server gave us full details about each dish's ingredients and was able to answer our questions about how some things were prepared. Kind, friendly service, changed our plates to not mix flavors when necessary, and paced everything well so we could have enough space to fully enjoy. The chef came out for a bit at the end and shared some stories about the winemaker of the bottle we selected. One of the best meals in Evora!
This restaurant is very small however, the food is out of this world! We were a party of six with very high expectations, and the food met every one of them. This is an incredible gem in the heart of the city. The food is original, exceptional, and well worth a visit. We were accustomed to New York City dining and this restaurant, in all of our opinions, exceeded every expectation. I could not more highly recommend this. Food is authentic Portuguese. The chef sources local ingredients from local farmers. And what he does is magnificent!
