Gema D'evora is located under the medieval arches in Geraldo Square. It's a small café with limited seating. Now even more so with the required distancing of tables. However, they also have tables outside in Geraldo Square. It has counter service, meaning you have to go to the counter to select and pay for your food and then take it to your table. If it is something not ready made, such as toast, they will bring that to your table when it is prepared. The young lady who served me was very pleasant, and the toast and croissant were as expected.

Good place in main square, pastry and coffee ok. Staff very rude and arrogant, like they were doing you a favour for a payed service. I would not like to have employees like them.

Alright, are there bad pastries and snacks? Not really. The location could not be more convenient than right in the main square of the town so you 'd hope they would capitalize a little bit better. The staff was rushed the two times we were here as it was busy especially considering how off season we were here. Regardless of that, they were polite but short meeting the minimum requirements but not giving off the glad you 're here vibe we get so many other places. We sat down to eat at a table that had not been cleaned from the last guests. The treats were good as we 've come to expect in Portugal but the overall experience was just OK.

Nice pastry shop in the center square. As expected, they offer many Portuguese pasties, which are made with a cream filling, which make them sort of heavy. It's hard to find a simple croissant or scone type pastry. The coffee is good if you're having espresso, duplo, or Americano. The service is fast and efficient. Except for the Portuguese bank card, they do not accept any credit card. So, make sure you have cash.

We got there a few minutes before closing. Nevertheless the cashier was very nice and introduced us to local desserts. We tried Tartelete Amendôa and Fidalgo. They weren’t that fresh at the closing time, we enjoyed eating them anyway. If we had come early, I’m sure they would tasted better and get better ratings.
