Fortunately the second time tge owner Jorge (and total staff) saw us and opened the door. Great underground cavern feel with vaulted ceilings. Super casual down to earth but good. Grilled Black pork was yummy and calamari and beans stew too cheap/nice drinks. We were the only ones there but, not a prob, chilling enjoying Jorges music. Place apparently livens up at different stages of the night but Jorge is always there. Pop in say hi and stay for a while.
One of the best bars I've been at! Great service, awesome music and also a great theamed place! It's a must visit!
We came to a late dinner and stayed for a few drinks until the end of the night. With the beautiful atmosphere and great music, this bar is a little hidden treasure. Don't be fooled by a locked door. Maybe you need to ring the bell to get in. Sit at the bar and let yourself be entertained by the stories of the owner/barkeeps and the dry humor. You shouldn't miss this jewel in Evora.
My boyfriend and I popped in on a quiet Wednesday night for an after dinner drink and stayed for... several. We had such a great time! George hung out with us and taught us about Portuguese liquors and history. The ambience was also amazing... very medieval with vaulted ceilings. Such a cool, authentic place. Thanks, George, for your hospitality!!
