We stumbled on this restaurant as the place we had in mind was closed. The mum is the chef, the daughter (excellent english) is the hostess. Just a few very local typical items on the menu and cooked on a simple oven next to the bar our son (6yrs) had the turkey escalope and loved it, my husband had the Bacalhau à Brás (like a cod kedgeree) and I had roast back pork with rice which was sweet and tender and fell apart imagine the ultimate pulled pork!!! Excellent local wine and the whole bill was less than 50 euros for cover, beer, carafe of wine, water, 3 main meals, 2 puddings and 4 coffees. Perfect!

Trying to get away from the tourist cafes we saw the tables on the street down a side road (ok, they're mostly little side roads in Evora). The owner was very welcoming, explained the menu briefly, and the rest was simply good food.
The owner Fatima spoke very good English as did her staff who were welcoming and attentive. My wife and I had 2 lunchtime snacks and 1 evening meal, the experiences were all thoroughly enjoyable. This was our 4th visit to Evora but only our 2nd visit to this cafe' but certainly not the last.
This small restaurant was great. It was some of the food we had in a 10-day trip through Portugal. The waitress was helpful, the food was freshly cooked, and it seemed a place more for locals than tourists. It was quite inexpensive. A great place to eat!
