This review was recovered thanks to one employee who stepped in to help. We made reservations ahead of time on the Fork (Europe's version of Open Table). We arrived at the restaurant for our meal and were told we did not have a reservation. We advised we had not been notified and were rudely told that We don't do that. We call people when we can't accept a reservation They had no other tables for the night. After walking out and checking our phone we noted that about minutes before we arrived, our reservation was declined by the restaurant on the app. The reservation we made hours prior. We went back in and fortunately a much friendlier staff member stepped in and listened to our scenario. He apologized as they had indeed not called us as told before. He was able to get us in, just a little later. The great staff member who helped us get in also took care of us for the night and very well I might add (there MAY have been a healthy tip for him). The restaurant is pleasant and quiet. There's even a few tables towards the back that have wonderfully used the old stable partitions in the seating as well as the bathrooms. It's gonna sound odd, but possibly some of the coolest bathrooms are here. Anyway, getting back to the meal..... Some bread as we always do and some cheese were basic but good. Partridge in pastry and the daily fish special were chosen for our mains. The partridge was clearly the winner of the two. Such a wonderful and flavorful dish yet also so very simple . Dessert was very good, though two months later I can't remember what it was. I just remember walking out feeling very satisfied with the meal.....despite the rough start.
We loved the decor and atmosphere of this restaurant. The menu choice was good for both food and wine and the food was delicious. We enjoyed our evening very much.

Not overly busy and service was slow. Ordered the Veal Steak medium cooked. It came cooked rare, I asked them to cook it more, they took it back. My wife ordered the Lamb and it was perfect. The Veal was brought back and still was rare because the piece of meat was 5cm thick x 30cm x 50cm. Veal needs to be thin (1cm or less) to be tender and cooked evenly in my experience. The meal was taken again and they cut it into strips to cook it enough, in the mean time my wife finished her dinner before I was able to begin eating my meal. Not impressed.
What a treasure! We were greeted at the door when we arrived and were thanked for our patronage on the way out. The food was excellent. Two of our group had the partridge which was tender and very flavourful. Another had veal steak which was done to perfection and the other had cod which was delicious. The presentation was beautiful. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a gourmet treat.
We stumbled across this little gem and liked it so much we went back! 2 of 3 dinners in Évora!

We had dinner in the outdoor restaurant and couldn’t believe how deceiving they can be. Without giving you time to look at the menu to choose the starters, they bring to your table the most expensive starter as a recommendation without mentioning the price, and you end up paying 15€ for a tiny cheese and some ham. Also ordered the 20€ dish of “Secretos of Pork” and got four tiny pieces of meat, some rice/beans and vegetables and never got the french fries that were supposed to be part of the dish. What a joke. Absolute ripoff and trap for tourists. Avoid.
We tried both outside and inside in different days and outside it’s definitely the party place, very happy and fast. Inside it’s the true restaurante experience. Both were above expectation, great food and an amazing team always there and smiling!
Hands down 10/10 experience. My family and I were lucky enough to get a walk-in table for lunch. Our waiter was João and he made the meal unforgettable. He took the time to explain the menu to us and when prompted he gave us excellent recommendations for each portion of the meal (wine/starters/mains). I definitely recommend getting a reservation because this place gets packed. Also get the bochechas de porco preto (super tender and I’m stilling dreaming about it)!
Beautiful place in a garden with great food. Great team always smiling. Typical local food with an outside grill cooking delicious meat. I strongly recommend this place
This restaurant has meat, fish, but also great vegan dishes. Everything we ate was delicious! The appetizer was toasted bread with tomato chutney and an amazing vegan cheese. The dishes had a regional influence, which was nice. The service was a bit slow, but I think they were full, and everyone was very nice and making sure everything was ok.
