We made a reservation through the Ariel website, and when we showed up the wait staff would not honor the reservation- giving us some silly story about a management change in 2 weeks. VERY DISAPPOINTING service. They did not apologize, or help us find some other place. Plus we had just had our 87 year old Grandmother arrive by car. She can’t walk very far in cobblestones. What a disaster.
We visited for desserts and tried the serica pudding and chocolate brownie. Both desserts were tasty, with the chocolate brownie being more dry and cake-like versus fudgy. However, we ordered a glass of port wine to go with dessert and they brought something like sangria with lemon, which was very disappointing. The patio was nice and we really appreciated them serving us out there before it was officially opened.
Great service, amazing food. Could not recommend enough. Beef was tender and just right, beef cheeks delicious, as well as lamb and sea bass. Will definitely come back.
Absolutely fantastic! The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. It was an absolute highlight of our time in Évora.
The witch of Evora may not be flying around anymore, but there is definitely culinary sorcery happening at A Bruxa D 'Evora ! I cannot remember feeling so...pampered is the word I 'd use. Co-owner Antonio was incredibly welcoming to our family. He guided us into ordering just the right amount of food and gave generously of his time during the evenings meal. Instead of wine or cocktails, we opted to go with what may be the most delicious Tropical Sangria we 've ever had in our lives. Incredibly complex, it was just a hint of what to expect over the course of our meal. We started the feast with the Encontro (Warm bread w/3 butters, olive oil and olives). Standout appetizers include the sauteed mushrooms, that were so flavorful, served in a small casserole, bathed in a fragrant herb broth that we fought over to dip our bread into. Roasted Prawns in Garlic and the Vegan Cheese Pastel which was much tastier than other vegan cheeses I 've had before. We then moved onto the Perch, Sea Bass and Oxtails braised tender then shredded and served over a mound of buttery mashed potatoes. Dessert was just as good. We ordered the Trilogy of desserts and a Lime Mousse that was creamy and bright with citrus and lighter than air. Antonio wasn 't finished...he brought out not one, not two but three desserts wines and aperitifs for us to try. One was the famous Portuguese Ginjinha cherry liqueur, the second was Poejo, a local liqueur made using the herb Pennyroyal which gives it an intensely herbaceous and minty flavor and unfortunately the last one no one could remember what he brought out. He only had a little bit left that was cold but it was delicious! To our dismay, before we turned around the bottle was gone. Perhaps Antonio or someone else at the restaurant could give us it 's name? As I said at the start, we walked out of the restaurant feeling that we had just been pampered and had eaten an amazing meal. We cannot recommend this restaurant more highly and hope to return someday.

Not overly busy and service was slow. Ordered the Veal Steak medium cooked. It came cooked rare, I asked them to cook it more, they took it back. My wife ordered the Lamb and it was perfect. The Veal was brought back and still was rare because the piece of meat was 5cm thick x 30cm x 50cm. Veal needs to be thin (1cm or less) to be tender and cooked evenly in my experience. The meal was taken again and they cut it into strips to cook it enough, in the mean time my wife finished her dinner before I was able to begin eating my meal. Not impressed.
What a treasure! We were greeted at the door when we arrived and were thanked for our patronage on the way out. The food was excellent. Two of our group had the partridge which was tender and very flavourful. Another had veal steak which was done to perfection and the other had cod which was delicious. The presentation was beautiful. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a gourmet treat.
My favorite restaurant in Evora. I come here every time I’m in town and the quality and service has always been consistently great. Obrigada por tudo a bruxa e até a próxima!
We stumbled across this little gem and liked it so much we went back! 2 of 3 dinners in Évora!

Hands down 10/10 experience. My family and I were lucky enough to get a walk-in table for lunch. Our waiter was João and he made the meal unforgettable. He took the time to explain the menu to us and when prompted he gave us excellent recommendations for each portion of the meal (wine/starters/mains). I definitely recommend getting a reservation because this place gets packed. Also get the bochechas de porco preto (super tender and I’m stilling dreaming about it)!
Beautiful place in a garden with great food. Great team always smiling. Typical local food with an outside grill cooking delicious meat. I strongly recommend this place
This restaurant has meat, fish, but also great vegan dishes. Everything we ate was delicious! The appetizer was toasted bread with tomato chutney and an amazing vegan cheese. The dishes had a regional influence, which was nice. The service was a bit slow, but I think they were full, and everyone was very nice and making sure everything was ok.
Absolutely amazing food with the nicest smile. Tried 6 different restaurants in Évora, all above 4.5 starts on Google, and this one has been the very best. Keep up the good work guys! I'll be sure to come back if I ever come to Évora again!
Beautiful outdoor dining area with great music and food. I had the best gin and tonic I’ve ever had. It was highly suggested by our waiter. It was Uni Azor coffee gin. It was the lightest and most refreshing drink. It came with a lemon twist and then topped off with 2 fresh coffee beans. The black pork was also so good!

This restaurant was wonderful! The staff was so friendly and the food was amazing. I had a glass of local wine with a Gratin cheese on toast and monk rice. Everything was delicious, and I sat at a table next to the glass wall on the terrace. Would definitely eat again!
Great menu with different choices. Staff is amazing and helpful Will return for sure
One of the best food experiences I had in Portugal! The restaurant is beautiful, very cozy, and fancy. The food is creative and perfectly executed, giving a new meaning to the traditional dishes But the best of the experience was the staff. They are so well-trained and polite, always one step ahead. They suggest excellent dishes and how much food is usually enough for how many people are eating, but never sounding intrusive. I wish all services were like this
