Jack's Seafood - Eureka

I randomly walked into this restaurant on a regular March weekday evening. It was quiet with just a few customers finishing up their meals, but I received a warm welcome. The special was rock cod with lemon capers and it was a great deal! The dish was quickly brought out to me, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. The fish was truly some of the best I have ever had - flaky, fresh, moist, and bursting with flavor. The sauce complemented the cod perfectly without overpowering it. The steamed broccoli was also served hot and was very flavorful, it tasted like it had just been picked that afternoon. The rice pilaf was cooked to perfection, just the right texture to soak up the sauce. The rest of the menu looked promising as well. I highly recommend dining at Jack's!

We came to this restaurant for fresh seafood, but we were disappointed with the execution. My starter soup had raw mushrooms in it, and my crab came with lukewarm butter that wasn't properly melted. The ginger sauce was odd and didn't complement the dish. I asked for warmer butter with garlic, which improved the dish slightly. My boyfriend ordered halibut and chips, but the potatoes were undercooked. However, the fish was good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, we were told that the daily happy hour wasn't available on weekends, even though others were offered it later. Overall, it was not worth the price we paid. Perhaps it was just an off day for the restaurant.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. Even though we arrived an hour before closing, we narrowly missed a big rush. The staff was hardworking and efficient, and the service was friendly. The food was delicious, especially the crab cakes - which I typically don't enjoy, but found to be outstanding here. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for quality seafood.

My mom and I just stopped in for dinner and we had the Rock Cod special... we were not disappointed. Service was prompt with a smile, and food was delicious... we would highly recommend!!

Even though the deck was closed, the wait staff kindly let me sit on it with my dog so that I could have dinner and a beer. Enjoyed a half-dozen barbecued oysters (two ways) and a crab sandwich. Good food and very friendly wait staff. Recommended.
