Was Stephen Lee at Snack Shack a mag?
I am extremely impressed with the quality and flavor of the food, the portion sizes, and the service. I typically hesitate to order barbecue at small Ma-Pa spots like this, but I decided to take the plunge, and I'm so glad I did. The prices are comparable to those at most chain restaurants, though my only worry is that I might end up spending too much by eating there too frequently! Thank you, Snack Shack, for openin... The burgers are excellent, and the BBQ is decent; however, the sauce is overly sweet and based on high fructose corn syrup, which I find inedible. The service is friendly but a bit slow, and the interior has a cozy, hole-in-the-wall vibe.
Wow, this place is fantastic! It’s small, with about seven booths and two small tables, but during nice weather, you can enjoy your meal outside. It gets pretty busy at lunchtime. The restaurant is located in an industrial area just beyond the railroad tracks, right across from a mobile home park, and about half a mile from where some less fortunate folks hang out in Island Park. So, it’s not exactly a fancy spot! It’s a family-run business, and their burgers are simply amazing. They also have daily specials. The restroom is small, but the service is friendly. If you remember, it used to be called Suzy's way back when. Prices are a bit higher than average, but definitely worth it. There’s parking available both in the front and back. I try to eat there as often as I can – just turn right at the U-Haul off Main Street. It's located in Glenwood, just west of Springfield. You’ve got to try the burgers, shakes, and fries… so delicious! It’s about 15 miles from my home, but the drive is definitely worth it for the experience.
