I went with my mom and husband, and we... read more I had a really unfortunate experience at Chapala's during my last visit! I ended up feeling sick for two days afterward. I went with my mom and husband, and we chose to sit outside since we were nearby and thought our meal would be quick as we had other plans. However, we ended up waiting about 20 minutes just to place our order. The service was incredibly slow, and we kept running out of drinks. They even left the used ice in our glasses, making everything taste watered down. I ordered fajitas, which are usually a good choice, but after sharing them with my mom, both of us became ill for a full two days. Considering the long wait, the sickness, and how much we ended up spending, we decided we would never return. My husband used to rave about this place, but not anymore.

Carne Asada burrito, Arroz de Pollo, Queso Dip, Taco Salad, Margarita were all great. Good knowing there's a great Mexican place in Eugene.

I enjoy sitting outside and relishing my meal in the square, especially with the occasional live music and the lovely trees providing shade. However, I've noticed that the service is quite slow when I dine outside. It seems like it might be more challenging to attend to customers in that area. Even when I visited for an early lunch when the place was nearly empty, it took half an hour to receive my bowl of soup. Despite this, it’s a great spot, and I definitely plan to return!

I've only had one other dish there and it's the relleno costeño. Shrimp in a rich cream sauce stuffed inside a chile. Both really good.
