What William Snow dislikes about Cafe Glendi:
I ordered a gyro this evening and it was quite disappointing. There was hardly any meat—just one thin strip. The rest was mostly lettuce and sauce. I regret not checking the reviews beforehand. I won't be coming back. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 View all feedback.
I visited Cafe Glendi for a birthday meal, and the experience was just average. The food was decent but felt more like light fare, similar to what you would find at the 5th Street Public Market. While it wasn't bad, I found myself still a bit hungry afterward. I ordered the gyro plate, which included a salad, meat, rice, and pita. Unfortunately, they were quite stingy with the meat—I had hoped for more to make the dish feel more worthwhile. The pita tasted pre-packaged rather than freshly made; it seemed like it had been toasted from a commercial bag. To add to the disappointment, they were out of lamb. For a total of $82 (excluding tip), our meal included two bottles of water, an iced tea, a can of Coke, a gyro plate, a gyro with a side of soup, a veggie plate, a salmon salad, and a pita with hummus. Here’s a quick rundown: the hummus was excellent, but the tzatziki sauce was lacking. The meat was flavorful but sparse, and while I heard the salmon was good, I can only speak to the rice and spanakopita, which were both tasty. The soup didn’t impress, but the dolmas were enjoyable, and the gyro had a lot of lettuce but not enough meat. The service was a little off initially, with the server seeming unsure of how to assist us, but she perked up when she saw how much we were ordering and was friendlier when bringing out our food. Honestly, I feel like I have had better food and a more welcoming experience at Tradewinds. It would have been nice if she had mentioned that there was free cold iced water available by the bar. The view from the restaurant was okay, as you could see trains passing by, and it's located on the second floor. Just a heads up: the directions take you to the back of the 5th Street Public Market, but you can park for free for three hours in their lot, which has tight spaces but is manageable. Overall Impression: Meal type: Dinner, Food: 3, Service: 3, Atmosphere: 3.

Fantastic food! It’s reasonably priced, and the wait for your meal isn’t too long. I would definitely return! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
