Was Brian Cooper at Akira a mag?
This restaurant is a fantastic place to indulge in a $300 omakase experience for only $120. The chef and their team are exceptionally talented and bring a lot of character to the dining experience. It truly surpassed all my expectations. View all feedback.

What Jesse Sinclair dislikes about Akira:
The atmosphere at Akira was fantastic, and our server, who I believe was Filipino, truly represented the restaurant well. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet expectations. The chirashi bowl I ordered had fish that seemed to be spoiled, and the salmon was particularly unappetizing, ultimately making us feel ill. I have no complaints about the server; he was incredibly kind, which made it difficult to share our concern... View all feedback.

Very delicious food. The taste pallet is very diverse. My taste buds woke up from monotony of salty/sweet and enjoyed every bite

Dude... this place rocks. A gorgeous atmosphere, set in a beautiful old house. Beams of light drift in through broad windows. Views of the railroad district, and the sunset streaming through the aspen trees. Tasteful and comfortable wooden tables and chairs. Megan Thee Stallion gently pumping through an absurdly quality speaker. Skateboards on the walls.Service is expedient and to the point. Everyone who works there is helpful and interesting. The cocktails are AMAZING. Flavorful, and novel. I wish i coulda tried em all. The food was… impeccable… the flavors artfully balanced, the plating modest but inviting. We had the duck fried rice, lemon pepper fried chicken, dan dan noodles, smoked salmon, cocktail shrimp, scallops, and pickle plate. EVERY item tasted like my new favorite thing. Truly astounding. Like????But i must say… the SCALLOPS????!!! THE best thing I've tasted this year. Crispy, creamy, and delightful in every way. This place is my favorite. Try it. Take the fam! You will not regret it.

We ate food in a converted closet, with skateboards for wall decor and Kung Fu movies playing over the bar. If you want a unique Japanese dining experience, you've come to the right place. Such flavorful and well curated food. Im excited to see what else they have in store.

Hands down the BEST restaurant in Eugene, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has said that. Friendliest staff in the whole wide world. The food was fresh, delicious, and very unique! We came on a Monday, and it was a hot day (in the 90s) so there was no one there. It was a truly memorable experience. Price per person: $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chef's Choice Hand Rolls, Steam Bun with Pork Belly

Food was great when we eventually got it. Drinks were fine. After ordering we waited over an hour for our food to start arriving. This happens, not a big deal. But, there was no communication until we asked. Then, they forgot one of the entrees and we waited another 30+ minutes for that. All told we were there for over 2 hours (with no air conditioning). Wait staff apologized when we looked frustrated, but didn't offer anything to improve our experience. A really disappointing experience. The food we did eventually eat was quite good, but hardly worth the experience. If they can't manage to service the upstairs portion well, they should just do a bar up there. Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
