While visiting Eugene, my husband and I chose 1960 Cocina. It was a great dinner. We both had the Pollo Asado. Grilled chicken served with a lime crema sauce, rice, beans, guacamole corn tortillas. It was superb. Flavorful chicken, delicious sauce, tasty sides. Service was friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere and decor. We loved it. Food service was quick. Highly recommend. What Jeremy Ostby doesn't like about 1960 Cocina:
Honest opinion is this; its better to have quality food than food that looks pretty, its clear they have spent the time to make food look good but the time should have been spent creating quality dishes. An interesting restaurant to walk into. Seems like an attempt at a new era look/vibe. The restaurant is clean though its attempt at being fancy is apparent. Music was loud and service was slow. Food proportions were g... View all feedback.
The food was lacking in flavor. It's unclear how this restaurant is considered the top Mexican spot in Eugene, as the quality was much lower than expected. The portions were also on the smaller side. I ordered the Chile relleno dish with an additional taco, and I was still left feeling hungry. On top of that, they charged $7 for a small bowl of salsa, without even providing chips. I wouldn't recommend going back. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
Whenever I am in town, I always make sure to visit this place. The staff is amazing and the food is outstanding! The service is top-notch and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend trying their Carne Asada. The price per person for dinner is between $20-30.
The food was authentic and delicious, and the service was quick, friendly, and not overbearing. I would give this restaurant a perfect 10 out of 10 recommendation. - Jordan Melend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The first time our family had a meal at this restaurant, it was worth the drive. It has the best Mexican cuisine we have ever tried and we highly recommend it.
The staff at this restaurant were fantastic. While it took some time to receive our food, it was definitely worth the wait. The chicken enchiladas were delicious, and the refried beans were the best I've had since my Hispanic brother made them.
