R-ribs Bbq
Description
Once a bustling neighborhood barbecue staple, this family-run spot still wins fans with craveable, uniquely sauced rib tips, made-to-order fries and a beloved Thursday po'boy. Friendly staff and a convenient drive-thru have sustained regulars through an ownership change, but experiences are uneven: inconsistent service, occasional undercooked or dry ribs, missing sauce, sloppy packaging and a pared-back atmosphere — plus limited opening days. Great for BBQ lovers seeking takeout, but expect hit-or-miss execution.

I was recommended to try the ribs at this restaurant, which was open on Juneteenth, one of their three days a week. I had specifically requested no sauce on the fries, and to my dismay, there was barely any sauce on the ribs as well. I ended up having to order extra sauce. When I tried a rib, the staff member asked how it tasted. Unfortunately, they weren't good, especially for someone who knows the difference between ribs cooked on a charcoal grill and those baked in a commercial wood oven that many chain BBQ restaurants use to avoid burning. This method tends to lack flavor, and I was really disappointed, reminiscent of my experience at BB King’s on Beale Street in Memphis—I expected much better BBQ. On top of that, the packaging was unprofessional, and the overall appearance of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone I know, nor would I choose to return myself. I feel fortunate that I didn’t end up getting sick.
I had their ribs, but inside not open this time. The service is rather bad for their food to be so good. I don't see how they stay open with such sub par service. Please get it together. Love your food!
