What YYZ REVIEWER doesn't like about Amanecer Salvadoreno:
This place is tucked away in a strip mall where one would never expect a ElSalvadorian restaurant!Nothing much to say about ambiance and your order takes forever to come.Priced pretty high for the kind of place it is.Shrimp ceviche was nice but rest of what we ordered was just average.Do check your bill when paying as we were charged for something we did not order. Great flavours, heart warming, and belly filling food. Try the tamales and their house hot sauce. Polite and timely service. They even have Coca Cola in a bottle.
I have been to many Salvadoran places but this place seems to have the best variety of food and atmosphere. They also have an LCBO license which means you can drink beer. I love the atmosphere here! Feels like a sports bar. The prices are very competent and cheaper than in other Latin American restaurants. Fast service too!Do not get fooled by the plaza where it's located, this place is a hidden gem! I will certainly return here for sure. Ordered corn tamale which was big, and pupusas, the pupusas were a little burnt but not bad, what amzed me was the great variety of food they have in this small restaurant, it's amazing. Ordered coca-cola so I don't know how their Salvadoran juice drinks taste like. 5-stars.
The food at this restaurant is amazing, but the inside temperature is uncomfortably hot. If you don't mind sweating while you eat, it's worth it for the fantastic food. I still go often, despite the lack of decent temperature control inside.
The food at this restaurant is excellent and seems to be popular with locals. Despite its unassuming location, it is definitely worth checking out. The ceviche was fresh, the Birria tacos were good, and the dip had great flavor. The pupusas were delicious. The parking lot is small with limited spots, but we were able to find plenty of free spots when we arrived.
What a sweet spot. It’s one of those hidden gems. You feel like you are in some yummy spot in South America. Service is great. Friendly and efficient. I asked for suggestions and all were great. Homemade drinks like horchata and Jamaica are refreshing. The food is very flavourful. Fish ceviche with lots of lime, loaded pupusa, killed tamale and big platters. A must visit.
